I offer piano lessons for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced, with a special emphasis on classical literature. For brand-new beginners, I primarily use Piano Safari, a highly effective method that fosters both technical development and a love for music.

Lessons incorporate scales and whole-body piano technique, ensuring students build a strong foundation in both musicality and technical skills. My goal is to provide a well-rounded, engaging learning experience tailored to each student’s individual needs.

Piano Lessons with a Classical Focus: Building Strong Technique and Musicality

Curriculum

    🎼 Studio Curriculum

At Last Frontier Piano Studio, we use Piano Safari as the primary curriculum for new students. This highly researched method, developed by Dr. Julie Knerr, integrates intervallic reading, rote-based pattern recognition, technical development, and improvisation. Its comprehensive approach makes it particularly effective for students of all learning styles, including aural learners, analytical thinkers, and both accelerated and slower-paced students.

Upon completing Level 3, students transition to classical literature and other early intermediate repertoire, ensuring a strong foundation in musicianship and artistic expression. 🎶✨

  • Classical Literature

    Classical Literature

Students in the studio are required to study standard historical repertoire, including works by Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and Chopin. After completing Piano Safari, I incorporate a variety of repertoire collections to ensure a well-rounded musical education. Some of the primary series I use include:

    🎶 RCM Celebration Series 📚
    🎶 Snell Repertoire Series
    🎶 Bastien Piano Literature
    🎶 Festival Collection
    🎶 Masterwork Classics

Additionally, I incorporate modern works and supplemental materials tailored to each student's interests, ensuring a diverse and engaging learning experience. 🎹✨
